Social media marketing is much more than just setting up a Twitter or Facebook account. It takes thoughtful analysis, strategy, great content development and a little trial and error. Most of all, it requires patience and skill.
If you jump into social media too fast and without strategy, you run the real risk of turning off current and future customers.
So how do you effectively use social media to grow your business? Think about your ideal customer. Clearly define that customer’s characteristics and information needs. Develop content your customer would enjoy (without including a sales pitch). Share that content through your social networks, then engage.
